This Riley 12/4 Special, built in 1937, was restored in England during the 1980s as part of a five-year project and was completed in 1990. A modified Riley 12/4 Falcon chassis served as the mechanical basis; this was further developed during the conversion to Sprite specification for sporting use.

The car is powered by a 2.6-litre Riley Pathfinder four-cylinder engine, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. This configuration combines period-appropriate technology with a noticeable increase in performance, resulting in a driving character that is both authentic and highly engaging.

In the early 2000s, the Riley arrived in Germany and was acquired by its current owner in 2003. Since then, the car has been in careful ownership and has been continuously maintained and technically optimised, whilst its historic character has been consistently preserved.

Under its current ownership, the Riley has been regularly entered in historic motorsport events, including circuit races at the Nürburgring and Hockenheim, as well as hill climbs and selected road trips. The car is now in a very well-maintained, technically flawless condition and is immediately ready for further events of this kind.

Beyond the technical details, this Riley is particularly impressive due to its cohesive overall appearance as a historically inspired racing special. Thanks to its long-term ownership and ongoing technical maintenance, the car is now in excellent condition and ready for immediate use. The focus remains firmly on the original driving character of the Riley brand, which lends the car a special credibility within the historic motorsport scene.
